WooCommerce Odoo Plugin Roadmap – Q4 2022

Our WooCommerce Odoo plugin has become very popular amongst customers, and has seen a fast rate of growth in 2022. With rapid change and to ensure a substantially improved customer experience, we have recently undertaken some in depth testing of the plugin and where there is the most room for improvement. As such and given the importance of the improvements, we wanted to share our priorities for our Q4 WooCommerce Odoo plugin Roadmap with customers so you know what’s coming and know to expect it.

With that said, please find a list of some of the improvements coming to the plugin in Q4 2022. Note that while we cannot give exact dates for when each improvement will be released, we will be planning frequent releases during Q4 to ensure these are brought as quickly to customers as possible.

The below are generalised summaries of the issues identified, to give you an overview of the issue, and do not go into the specific details.

Streamlining the Setup Process

We’ve had feedback that the setup process can take up quite a bit more time than customers expect, and some of that setup causes confusion which results in a lack of clarity for some customers.

Questions such as to whether they have applied the right settings, whether the sync is working and so on mean we can do better here. We’ve identified the major factors causing setup issues and will be addressing those.

Our internal reference code for this is PLUGINS-1802.

Improvements to Site Speed

Some customers have reported issues with site speed after installing the plugin. This issue has been assessed and we’ll be rolling out improvements to address this accordingly.

Errors when Installing/Uninstalling Plugin

On limited WordPress versions customers are finding fatal error messages after the plugin is deactivated and then reinstalled. We have also seen Ripcord issues associated with that error. This will be resolved in an upcoming release.

Blank Order Export Data

When no SKU is specified, and order options are set to export, blank order data can occur. We’ll be making an adjustment to block this from happening.

Product Import Failure – Multiple Databases

Some customers have reported that when they have more than one database in Odoo, the import of products is failing or not completing correctly. We’ll be making fixes accordingly to resolve these matters.

Our internal reference code for this is PLUGINS-1798.

Products not Importing as Expected – Multiple Databases

Some customers have reported that when they have more than one database in Odoo, the import of products is not happening as expected. We’ll be addressing this also.

Mass Export of Products Issue

Issues with mass exporting of products to Odoo taking too long, and a failure message is displayed, even though it was successful.

Our internal reference code for this is PLUGINS-1800.

Bottom Line!

In our WooCommerce Odoo plugin roadmap, we have prioritised these issues and have dedicated resources to work through them as quickly as possible in the coming weeks.

If you’re experiencing one of these issues, please let our team know as we can then notify you once the issue is resolved in a new release. In the meantime, Thank you for your patience and we appreciate your support of our business.
