Released on 6 October 2026, Anti-Fraud for WooCommerce 8.0.7 brings stronger controls for repeated payment attempts, fixes for legitimate connected orders, and improvements to stability. For store owners, the focus is practical: help identify payment abuse while keeping legitimate order workflows working as intended.
At OPMC Australia, we have updated the plugin to address payment verification abuse, improve card-testing enforcement, and correct issues that could affect genuine orders. Here is what changed and why it matters for your WooCommerce store.
Stronger protection against repeated payment attempts
Version 8.0.7 improves card-testing detection and enforcement to better protect against repeated payment attempts. It also adds protection against abuse of WooCommerce Add Payment Method and Braintree verification. These changes extend the release’s focus beyond the standard order checkout to payment-method and verification activity.
The update also fixes an issue where failed card attempts were counted before gateway processing. Correcting that behaviour helps ensure your configured card-testing limits are enforced correctly. Existing users should review those limits after updating so they reflect the activity and risk tolerance of their store.
More flexibility for PayPal CAPTCHA protection
PayPal Checkout Hardening CAPTCHA is now provider-agnostic and supports Cloudflare Turnstile. This gives merchants using Turnstile an additional supported option within that PayPal protection workflow. The change concerns CAPTCHA compatibility; it does not mean every payment gateway or third-party verification service is supported.
Fixes that help legitimate connected orders move through
Many WooCommerce stores receive orders through marketplaces, business systems and other integrations. Fraud checks need to account for those legitimate workflows.
Version 8.0.7 prevents legitimate third-party and API order flows, including LitCommerce, NetSuite and ClassWallet, from being incorrectly blocked. It also fixes imported Etsy orders being incorrectly identified as Unknown Origin during scheduled fraud checks. These are targeted corrections to order handling, rather than a blanket exemption for all imported or API orders.
If your store relies on one of these workflows, include it in your checks after the update. Confirm that genuine orders enter WooCommerce as expected and that their fraud assessments reflect the correct origin.
Pre-payment checks that respect your configured threshold
This release fixes pre-payment checks incorrectly rejecting orders below the configured High Risk threshold. The correction brings that behaviour back into line with the threshold you have selected. Your settings still matter: review risk thresholds and the actions associated with them to make sure they suit your business.
Reliability improvements for daily store operations
Version 8.0.7 fixes a logger issue that could cause a fatal error and take a site offline. It also addresses customer-reported issues in Anti-Fraud 8.0.6 to improve stability and reliability. Together with the payment and order-flow changes, these fixes make this a useful maintenance update for existing users.
What existing users should do next
Back up your site and database before updating. Where available, test the update on a staging site, especially if your store uses payment verification, marketplace imports or API-based order flows. After installation, confirm that the installed plugin version is 8.0.7, review your card-testing limits and High Risk threshold, and test the checkout and connected workflows your business actually uses.
Monitor genuine orders and fraud activity after the update. The aim is to apply the controls appropriate to your store, rather than making every setting more restrictive.
